# updatedb

> Create or update the database used by `locate`.
|
|
> It is usually run daily by cron.
|
|

|
- Refresh database content:
|
|
|
|
`sudo updatedb`
|
|
|
|
- Display file names as soon as they are found:
|
|
|
|
`sudo updatedb {{[-v|--verbose]}}`
|
