The maintenance of having a streamlined standalone debugger that
starts as fast as possible is no longer possible. See for
example #591 - therefore when using standalone debugger, use
the same sets of plug-ins/features as the product it is installed
in uses. The side effect is that the standalone debugger in this
use case will start slower and extra "stuff" will be present in
this UI.
For people just building the standalone debugger, provide a minimum
feature set. This will be many more bundles than before, but
should still provide a reasonably small set that starts well.
This simplification also includes removing the the duplicates set
of CDT docs (debug/org.eclipse.cdt.debug.application.doc). These
provided a simplified version of CDT's documentation targetted
at just standalone debugger. However there are a few problems related
to this duplication:
- The two sets of docs were not kept in sync
- The standalone docs appear in the online help, leading to
duplicated entries
- With the config.ini changes above, there is no way to exclude
the main docs in the standalone case, so remove the duplicate
A number of directly related clean-ups are included too:
- Remove the `ConfigGenerator.java` that stopped being referenced
in PR #761
- Complete the removal of `build-standalone-debugger-rcp` profile
that was started in #761. There is a small drawback to not having
this profile, the standalone debugger is very slow to build
compared to the rest of CDT. If this becomes a problem, restoring
this profile along with the changes made in #761 is reasonable.
- bring debug.product's licenses up to date
- modernize command line args to eclipse when using debug.product

to use "${options[@]}" in the final string so each option is
properly quoted if necessary

Before this change, we had to remember to edit the config.ini every time
a dependency was modified in debug.product. This change introduces a
script during the build that generates the config.ini with the same list
of plugins specified in debug.product.
The cdtdebug.sh start-up script was simplified in the process because
the config.ini includes all platform-specific plugins now and they just
won't get loaded if they are not a match for the environment.

Also include the latest version of plugins when launching
(tail vs head). This makes a difference when the plugins were
updated.

This commits adds support for the stand-alone debugger on Mac OS X
for both the RCP (product) and the script. The script had to be
modified slightly because of the different installation layout on Mac
and also the use of non-standard arguments to the 'find' command.

- allow pid to be specified following -a option for Standalone debugger
- if pid is specified, use it to set the ATTR_ATTACH_PROCESS_ID
setting for the launch configuration
- setting the pid will cause the process dialog not to appear and
the debugger will attempt to debug the given process
- an invalid pid will result in in the dialog being opened
- the pid is not used with the -r option and is ignored
- updated the README file and docs

- Fix indentation
- Call install.sh from cdtdebug.sh if installation needed.
This should help the user realize they can run the script
outside if the eclipse installation directory after the first time.
- Use a subshell to run pwd to avoid having to actually change
directory.
- Tag the line that needs to be modified with a marker to make it
future-proof.
- Use find instead of ls which is easier to parse.
- Allow to run install.sh without doing a cd to its location
- Allow to run original cdtdebug.sh without doing a cd to its location
